Vintage. Tarnished. Beautifully Designed
Playing around with aperture and lighting this morning
Took off my normal zoom lens
and using my old standard 50mm 1:4 on my Nikon D90
I had to become the zoom.
So different using a fixed lens.
The great thing about the wide aperture of this lens
is it allows so much
m o r e l i g h t
and blurs the background
(known as bokah)
I often use my point and shoot
which is usually handy but almost everything is in focus.
It is wonderful to focus close-up on the beautiful design
and tune out all of the other things in view
that are screaming for attention.
Our days are like that.
{What will you focus on today?}

What a fabulous post. And what you did here writing wise is very poetic; you start off with the normal, every day life then narrow down to a much broader universal: WHAT WILL YOU BE FOCUSING ON TODAY? That is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteOK,you may have to walk me through this procedure one day my dear. Because sometimes I can achieve that look with my new camera where the main subject is in clear focus, but the background is fuzzy, and I love that. But I get that without even knowing what I am doing! WE MUST SKYPE ONE DAY!!!! Love that pot. Anita
Beautiful, Violet! I love how you caught the warm tones.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography!

Hi Violet! :-) I love the dual art in this post... tarnished silver is a favorite of mine, as well as photography...so this really spoke to me... and what am I focusing on right now? :-) I'm focusing on WHO I am in Christ right now...pursuing Him to the fullest in 2013...a huge desire to grow up and not to remain a babe any longer. :-) Happy New Year!
