Altered White Curtains

...  A Ruffled Table Runner  ...

Made from a pair of plain white curtains

With three rows of ruffles on each end for the dining room table

I cut another panel in half and sewed them into two curtains
for art supply storage under this shelf
So much prettier
than viewing the plastic drawer units they are hiding!

Below, my rolled paper storage behind the curtain
{don't you love polka dotted papers?!?}
too pretty to hide so will probably move them.

And a little girls McKenna and Saige dolls
are enjoying their new white aprons!
... and there's still some extra fabric ...

I haven't sewn in a quite some time.
I'm finding I don't enjoy the process of cutting out a
pattern and starting from scratch all that much any more.
But altering something?
Oh that is fun!
Last week I added frayed ruffles to a little girls
cream colored dress I found at a kids consignment shop
for $6.  I had previously torn long strips from an old sheet
and laundered them to fray the edges, to use as ribbon.
I gathered a long strip and sewed it to the bottom
of the knit dress, with a narrower one around the neck,
and made a flower from one and pinned it to the waist.

I will share photos of that in another post.
Painting and mixed media is my main focus
but sewing for fun once in a while feels so good!
{especially when it all turns out and needles don't break
or mistakes have to be ripped out.... then I just
put that machine away in a long time out!}

  1. GOOD MORNING MY DEAR!

I am running off to a job assignment and must leave here at 5:30am.....but I ran over after seeing your email (that I will get to later tonight)!

I got to see your doll aprons! THANK YOU!!

And that table runner my friend, you STRUCK AGAIN! WOW that would look perfect on a old and beaten up vintage wooden table. It would! How fun to sew; I have not done that in years, but you have been having so much fun putting in all the details of your studio.

Everything looks wonderful and thank you for sharing it all with me - with us!

    MUCH LOVE, Anita

  8. VIOLET!

You came to my early post. I decided since I am not going away for a break, to just post anyway! It feels good to do so.

Heaven - oh, it all starts HERE, doesn't it? But when we have that reunion with HIM and our souls, oh dear, you will have to pick me up from the streets of gold...

Thank you for stopping by dear one. It is SNOWY today here chez nous, on my anniversary! Love, Anita
