Golden Moments

The Princess Chair

~  my alteration and embellishment  ~
for a special little Princess at Christmas

 {After and Before}

Spray painted, then 3 coats of glitter mixed with matte medium (mod podge works too)

The chair pad I made from a gold leather mini-skirt
found at an estate sale

{of course I bought it for the fabric!}
It is also coated with gold glitter
_____________

and below, the Saturday before Christmas I decided how
FUN it would be to have a PUPPET THEATRE
and my dear husband made this for me
that very day.
I painted it and we wrapped it and on Christmas morning
some little ones were quite excited at what they found.

This DEER girl
~ DAZZLE ~
made it through Christmas, which was my prayer.
I haven't talked about it here yet, but the day after Thanksgiving
we had some very sad news: cancer
~ and she won't be with us much longer ~
My heart is breaking, but I know from past experience
that God will help us through this, as hard as it will be.

I cherish every GOLDEN MOMENT we have shared

~ Christmas Day ~

Like every dog owner, my dogs are such a huge part of my life,
and my love for these dear Afghan Hounds shall be eternal.

My husband gave me a most cherished book for Christmas called
"The Heaven of Animals" by Nancy Tillman.
Her illustrations and poem are exceptional, you can find it here.

~ Wishing you all many Golden Moments in 2015 ~
How I hope each one who reads this
will be touched by God's great mercy and grace,
that you too may know his comfort in difficult times
~ and joy eternal ~

His gift of love revealed through Jesus is
Larger than our fears
Deeper than our sorrows
and lasts longer than our temporary afflictions

and the JOY he gives is
E T E R N A L
to those who put their trust in Him
___

Blessings dear ones,
~ Violet ~

Delightful appreciation followed by tears ... the chair very sweet and thanks for always inspiring us with your magical transformations. Love, love, love the puppet theatre, you and your husband created. I am sure the smiles on faces opening it are now precious memories.

  3. I am finally here.

Golden moments. Yes. And what a fabulous way to usher into the larger picture, by starting off with the detail of the chair, the whimsy of the theatre (LOVE IT) then escorting us into the larger, more bittersweet truth.

She is and always will be, a princess of a pet. There are no mistakes, there are no empty events. Her life in yours has been a gift, and will always be, and she also has been in mine. The photos, the magic you have had together (she is one willing and happy diva dog to strike a pose!) and the times on the beach and garden.....it is all part of my memories.

Thank GOD you had her during the joyous celebration of Christmas. Love you dear friend.

  7. Hi Violet, I too am glad your fur child had another Christmas with you. You have given them the best life any child dog could have, you have made it magical for them and they so know it.

Love the puppet theatre.... I have always wanted to create a life size one, recalling the stage like one we had as a child. Your are a big hit in my book my dear. It's a piece that can stay up year around setting the floor for a production at anytime. In fact you could hang some marionettes in the opening adding to the conversation of it.
I too am wishing you a beautiful 2015 and without you like bloggers with magical imaginations where would all the excitement in creating lie?
I am looking forward to all you inspire us with this year of 2015
Violet, you were a breath of fresh air this New Year day! I had missed out on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years with a virus/cold that took the pleasure out of my holidays here, so much so that I landed in the urgent care that lead to X-rays with a fractured rib from the bad cough, and breathing treatments.

I am going to make up for it by having a creative year! And one being visiting all your creativity.

Thank you love, for cheering my day!

    See you soon beautiful.
    Xx
    Happy New Year!!

  8. Happy January 1 my beloved friend,

Dazzle is a blessed pet, and her sweet face here is one I'll never forget. I hope that her days are gentle. Thank you for coming by today; I am running off again, but thank goodness, there are three more fabulous days left before work comes back into my life! But no matter if I'm working or not, I'm always here. LOVE! Anita
