Doll House Re-Design

~ The Doll House I Altered ~

The top floor will be a miniature art gallery
and the bottom 2 rooms, a miniature dress shop and a bakery

The two canvases on the left by Anita Rivera.  Horse by me.

This is the house as I found it on Craigs list.
It had all the 'bones' I desired, wood frame, and perfect size.

Although bit too
L    F  U  L
for my taste

I covered the painted floors with wood flooring

And the walls with white embossed wallpaper from my stash

Adding wood trim

And large skylights for the roof

I whitewashed the wood

~ It's now ready for the shops to move in! ~

{ ... as is the norm for me, this project took on a life of it's own and grew ... }

The difference, the change, WOW. And how gorgeous your gallery will be and a PASTRY SHOP TOO? Tea Rat would LOVE to come and peruse this place where he can wander in the gallery, take in a cake or two or three with a cuppa tea, and just bask in your creative presence. This is fabulous, and don't you just love remodeling at a miniature level?

LOVE THE FLOOR! Wasn't that fun?

You are starting off 2015 with a bang of the mini hammer, and I'm with ya....LOVE!

  2. Violet,
What a transformation from color blinding to splendid beauty. Wooden floor is absolute perfection. One day I need to do a post on the Dracula Castle John built for me. Right now it has a coffin with a Vampire rising up from his slumber with small mice inside. I've slowly been writing a book about a young man who was turned. Much romance, much intrigue, interesting story line which begins in Paris and becomes global.

Love the horse painting of yours for the art studio and
Anita's abstract chandelier with the flecks of gold and copper is intriguing. How I would adore a day of play with you both. But right now I'm dealing with flu that turned into acute bronchtis. Much desire to do but pretty sick...

    Xoxo,

  7. Oh wow Violet this was an amazing idea, I won't be looking at those mass produced and modern play houses the same anymore.... You know me I always build them by scratch, yet next one I find similar to yours I will buy it and up-style it. Best of all I love your horse painting and it so reminds me of my grandfathers when he was still living.

Anita's painting are amazing. I need to go over and let her know how intrigued I am.... Thank you for your beautiful visit.

    Xx
