Lavender and White

I've enjoyed a beautiful touch of spring
with these gorgeous flowers in a bouquet of lavenders and white

The sun was shining into the kitchen a couple of days ago
and highlighted these shapes and colors of joy

This wonderful large bouquet of flowers
was given to me on Valentines Day from my dear one.

Isn't it sweet how he chose flowers in shades of violet?

... There were more roses in the bouquet last week ...

These photos are a bright spot to me on this rainy windy cold day
Was it sunny and mild here just 2 days ago?!?

So, I share these flowers and sunshine with you
so that you can be reminded that Spring and warm weather
and SUNSHINE is coming!
have faith!

New Bouquets

I love all the flowers that are available
~ even though it is February ~

...I've replaced my bouquets shown a couple posts back...

This one is in the dining room
on the buffet in front of the window

This bouquet adorns the kitchen island

And upstairs in the hallway
more sunflowers to go with my painting

And these flowers won't wilt
... like my previous bouquets did ...

I created them with silk flowers and greenery
trying to replicate the look of the fresh flower

from a couple of weeks ago!

Although I prefer fresh flowers,
this time of year I have none growing in my yard
and needed some lasting beauty
to brighten winters longing to become spring

Created a vignette with sunflowers
to go with my painting

And a large bouquet for the kitchen

Fabric Banners. And Nasturtiums are Taking Over

I made this 12 foot long fabric banner today.
(Two of them actually)
For a special little girl's birthday party tomorrow

The beasts wanted to pose with it for you.

I ironed the fabric onto fusible heavyweight stabilizer
and then cut out the triangles with pinking shears,
then sewed them to the ribbon.
-
Then I thought some torn fabric strips would be fun
so went to a thrift store and found just what I needed,
a bright pink sheet and a shimmery bright green curtain.
Tearing fabric into strips is fun
~ But threads are everywhere now ~
An okay price to pay for creativity surges!

Now, about those nasturtiums!

I planted two small plants in this little garden area behind this fence,
where last year everything died that was planted there.
-
Apparently, nasturtiums are what was needed!
They have decided they don't want to be fenced in
and have proceeded to move into the yard.

That's okay, I love nasturtiums!

As for my coffee table project,
I bought the "Paris Grey" Chalk Paint,
so hopefully this weekend I can get to it!

What projects are you hoping to accomplish?

Summer Birds and Bouquets

High up in the trees
they behold a different view
than I who sit upon my porch and

-
Suddenly at once they burst forth
from the trees into the night sky

As I look up amazed

at hundreds of flying birds

(...And try not to think about a certain movie....)
-
filling the trees and the sky ~ a wonder to see
~ but I'm glad they aren't around all the time in such quantity! ~

The next morning, in my yard
bursts forth other creations that fill me with

and winters chill fills the air!

But for now I will let you fill my heart

Glorious COLOR!

Several years ago I received a plant sent by my friend Martha
as a birthday gift.  It was about a foot tall and I planted it
in our front yard.  Every year ~ after looking like it had died
in the winter ~ it grew bigger and more glorious
in the spring and always bloomed on my birthday week in April.

When we moved from that house to where we live now,
we dug it up and brought it with us,
and at first I didn't think it was going to survive.
And two years ago the winter seemed to have surely killed it.

This year we have had a cold spring
and I anxiously awaited the blooms for my birthday week
at the end of April.  It is almost a month late, but my oh my!
It's so special getting a late birthday gift don't you think?
It extends the fun.

The tiny plant now stands 5 feet tall,
and has the most GLORIOUS flowers!
What delight God must have when He creates such beauty.
~ For us to behold for just a week or so out of every year ~

... Chinese Tree Peony ...
Beautiful shades of white with accent colors of creamy pale yellows,
with a center of the brightest colors in nature,
surrounded by lush greens
I do believe God is the best Designer.
And has awesome color palettes!

P.S.
I've updated a photo of my now creamy ~ with hint of pale yellow~ studio
with the new blue ceiling in my previous post if you'd like to see it.

The Easter season is here and I am reminded of
resurrected life! - because Christ arose from the grave
we can have the same hope of eternal life.
What a mystery and what a wonder!
And what Love the Father has bestowed upon us!
