Visit to a Pumpkin Farm

The owner of this farm paints large paintings and has them hung on the barn, on posts out in the yards, and inside of the barns ... pumpkins and country scenery ...

A woman was making these polka-dot pumpkins ... using an apple core-er, made holes in the pumpkin, and cut holes out of other colored pumpkins and gourds, then plugged the holes with the various colors! How clever.....

Blue and orange, a lovely combination.

I was reading this hymn today and thinking how it goes so well with the

Beauty of Autumn.

"This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears all nature sings,

and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world, I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees,

of skies and seas

His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise, The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget that
though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet."

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music!"

(Psalm 98:4)

It seems like these pumpkins are a joyful autumn song of praise.

These are great photos. What a wonderful farm. I love the idea of painting the pumpkin white and adding the polka dots for a fun and festive look too.

I'll have to keep that in mind for next year.

The pumpkin was white to start with! I didn't even know they came in white until recently. I love white pumpkins!
