Dazzle and Ramblings

The above photos show our doggy Dazzle as a tiny pup and as a grown up girl. I have so many things to post about and photos to share and am so behind! So this morning I grabbed a couple that were already web-sized just to get me back to blogging! Dazzle is a unique Afghan Hound in that a child can lay on her and she allows it! Most Afghans want to keep their own space. But our Dazzle is a lap-dog! So funny. One sweet Afghan we once owned would jump off the couch if we even sat on the opposite end. Yesterday we went to see the "Marley and Me" movie ... such a good movie, but be sure to take tissues cuz everyone in the theater was either sobbing or sniffing at the end. I liked reading the book. One thing I really liked about it was that it made Dazzle look like a 'good' dog compared to Marley! If I could list all the things she destroyed in the past 2-1/2 years it would convince everyone to never get an Afghan Hound, or a puppy of any breed! My husband and I have both said to each other that we don't think we could endure an Afghan Hound puppy again!!! Til we look at the darling photos of her as a little pup that is.

Since I fractured my arm in early December (also due to darling Dazzle....) I have been so behind on things. An arm in a sling really hinders all the activities I am usually involved in. I over-did it before Christmas and my arm was so achey, but I am in physical therapy now to begin getting my movement back. So ... since everything takes me longer, I have had to just let things go and that is so not me! All of my Christmas photos are still in my camera and today I hope to start putting all the Christmas decor away. And then I will get back to more blogging! And get back to the gym. Yes, my arm is still in a sling most of the time but its getting a little bit better each day. Our son-in-law slipped on the icy snow 2 days before Christmas and severely broke his ankle, and had surgery 2 days ago, they had to put a metal post in with screws to fix it! My injury is mild compared to his. The amount of snow we had Christmas week was amazing and very unusual for our area. Many of us were snowed in for days at a time, and a couple of friends were even without power on Christmas day! The weather is getting back to normal now. Hurray! Happy New Year to everyone! Talk to you later ... Soon I will post photos of the dog painting commissions I did in December.
