The Art of Eating Pie

I made an apple pie!
Why is this noteworthy? Blogworthy? (Is that a word?)
Because I can count on one finger how many
P I E S
I have made in the past 2 years.
So, of course I needed to photograph the event.
-
Yumm.... so pretty even before the top crust.
-
I finally purchased a wonderful tool
that was so inexpensive and fabulous
I don't know how I lived without one before.
An apple corer-peeler-slicer.
I think I will make more apple desserts now!
-
And the pretty 'lattice top' crust?
A cut-out made with a wonderful tool that
cost $3.50 that I found at a tea shop.
-
So, did the pie taste as good as it looks?
It could have been a bit sweeter.
But quite yummy with ice cream.
I thought my dear husband would be so thrilled
because he loves pie.
So I asked him,
"Is it wonderful? His reply, "It's good"
"But is it amazing?"
"It's good."
-
(WRONG ANSWER!!!)
(no exclamation mark?!? ~ No raves?!?)
-
After all these years you'd think he'd know
that if he ever wants me to make an apple pie again
he needs to be more enthusiastic!!!
sigh.

Good for you on making apple pie! I don't do that very often at all.

Had to chuckle about your husband's comments. Which reminded me of a comment my father-in-law says occasionally in response to how it was..... "It was edible."

Alrighty, then........... have a wonderful day. Was there leftovers to have another piece of 'good' pie?

When did you find time to bake pies! Haven't you been on the computer at DJ's class for the last week like I have?? Good for you, I bel my hubby wishes we could have a mind meld! By the way I am amazed by your beautiful studio, but it is SO clean and tidy! Mine always looks like a hurricane went through it...

Very pretty. I love making apple pies and any other pies. I tried banana cream pie today, my first time. It doesn't look very pretty, like yours, but I hope it tastes good. My husband is so happy, but we will see if he still is once we cut it and taste it.

Sharon, oh my, if only my studio looked like it did in the photos.
Now it is cluttered, and of course messy when I work on projects. Perhaps I should remove those deceivingly clean and tidy photos! It looks like no one works in there!

Reminds me of Jim. So I go one step further. I ask, "How soon would you like me to make this again?" If he answers, "Tomorrow would be fine," then I know he LOVES it and is using silent exclamation marks. If he says, "Oh, once a month or so," then I never make it again!

BRAVO Violet! It is GORGEOUS and I bet it was yummy! Maybe your husband forgot what homemade apple pie was supposed to taste like! You did a great job, beautiful Violet! You are an artist, through and through! Bisous, Anita

Your apple pie looks great. I'll have to look for one of those lattice cutting tools.
