look like tiny wings? I picked up a seed pod
while on a walk and brought it home.
Picturing them as perfect little fairy wings,
I took some pansey petals from a flower pot on my front porch
and layed them over the 'wings' for a photograph.
-
I have been using vintage images recently
for some mixed media projects.
Altering and embellishing them... and sprinkling with glitter.
I combined this vintage image below with my petals and pods photo.
-
she is holding, but had to cover them up with the petal.
-
The crown on my fairy is a photo of a floral crown
I made a few days ago, it is a life-size crown,
so of course the image had to be made quite small
for The Pansey Fairy to wear.
-
All she needs now is to be added to some of my mixed media
art pieces and glittered.
-
Below is the photo that inspired the fairy of pods and petals.
as tiny gowns and wings.

What amazing colors and shapes the Designer of Creation
has created for our delight!
What intricate beauty there is to behold.

I wonder if fashion designers also find some inspiration
for gowns in the lovely flowers of summertime?

What a wonderful idea=) I love what you did with the "wings" and flower petals!:)
GOOD MORNING DEAREST! You had mentioned this project to me, and now I can actually SEE it and it is remarkable. Now that is an eye for creation...being able to see the possibilities for those otherwise annoying "helicopters" that are all over town!!! I especially love the little girl with the VIOLETS! And dearest, I will await your reply as to where I can find that turquoise glitter...a must have for someone like me, recently enamored with BLUE. BRAVO TO YOU for this lovely, lovely little fairy. Summer time is the time for these little darlings to appear!
Bisous dear friend, Anita
OH! And thank you dear one for coming to see my paper dolls on stage...Ruben is a hoot and loves to write so we make quite the team, laughing and carrying on with these rats....and The Dutchess is the creator of Miss Moussie and the idea of Gretta, the hedgehog is confabulated by Jackie, scribbled out by yours truly. Tea Rat however, is all MINE! Silly chap.....THANKS FOR HUMORING ME! Anita

Oh! Make sure that you take the tour with the New York Times link that says HERE on my post. There you will see the good photos and see the journey. I particularly love her loft bedroom.
Hi Violet! Thank you for your lovely and heartfelt comments on my latest post. It was wonderful to hear your thoughts. Your work here is amazing. I can see why you and Anita have connected, as you see the magic in the world around us. What a gift. We did have a special tea time at Rabbit Hill and it would have been that much more special if you'd been there, too. Happy Weekend!
xx Suzanne
