Christmas Decorating

The Sparkle of Crystals, Brass, and Gold
is what the dining room is all about this season
-
Sparkling lights reflecting in all the shimmery beauty
-
~ The Dining Room Buffet ~
-
I found the crystal and brass candlesticks and pedestal bowl
at one of my favorite flea-market shops.
My eyes lighted upon it every time I visited
until one day, it came home with me.
The sheer shimmery deep rose colored fabric
is from an entire bolt I bought at a local flea market
this past summer for $15. I have it hung with drapes
in the dining room, over another window as a swag,
and the rest bunched up into the Christmas tree!
-
The gold sparkly woven fabric added to the display,
from a thrift store for $1.
-
The set of beautiful spheres in the crystal bowl
were from a discount store.
I love decorating without spending a fortune!
-
A Christmas Tree Skirt
under the dining table centerpiece
of bowls of red and gold
glass ornaments.
-
I love how the sun is shining into the room
But this morning it is pouring rain,
with thunder and lightning!
-
-
Here is a little vignette from the master bath.
I've had the fairy on the right for a few years.
The one on the left, found recently at one of
my favorite flea market shops.
I love the touch of whimsy
and they make me smile
every time I walk into the room.
-
They have become best fairy friends

The Christmas Carol I've chosen for today is
-
"In the Bleak Midwinter"
(by Christina Rossetti, 1830-1894)
-

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow;
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
-
Our God, heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
Heav'n and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign:
In the bleak midwinter, a stable-place sufficed
The Lord God incarnate, Jesus Christ.
-
Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged in the air;
But his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.
-
What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man, I would do my part;
Yet what can I give him,
Give Him My Heart

I love all the Christmas sparkle in your house and that poem is so lovely. I know someone that I must share it with. She writes a Christmas poem every year and will enjoy this.
