Where I Create

Welcome to my studio and workshop
as I join in the 2011 "Where Bloggers Create" party.
I have changed everything since last year's party
and now have a workroom for art
and a pretty room where I blog and display art.
-
First, come into my studio workshop

Bins and drawers for storage and organization
Here's some close ups of the stamps and glitter on the white shelf

I made the tiny faerie mannequin

...Ribbon...
on the wire dress form makes a lovely skirt

~ The Easel for Oil Painting ~

Why not use crystal to store brushes and supplies?

...These bottles are only 2 inches tall and store tiny beads...

-
I found these fabulous wooden trays at a craft store on sale,
they actually have 2 levels in each box
and I've organized all my broken jewelry pieces,
rhinestones, buttons and pearls for crafting

Below, are my two jewelers 'watch repair cabinets'.
One was my husbands fathers that he had built half a century ago.
I love all the drawers!
I made curtains to hide the bins where I keep beads and such

The drawers hold stamping pads, felt pens, punches, etc.

More ribbon and lace, flowers....

~ A painting I've started ~

... Jewels waiting to be repaired ...

Thank you for visiting the studio work room!
-
(one day I was sewing some repairs on this pink crinoline,
and threw it over the chair 'til I could get back to it.
Well, it was too cute to remove :  )

Next, the decorative room!
-
-
My desk and computer where I am composing this blog post
... black feather boa hides the cords ...

The chair recently changed her tutu from pink to blue
-
-

Vignettes

Crystal reflects the light so beautifully!
-
Below, a shelf displaying some of the artwork and tags
my lovely friend Anita sent me from

I found this pretty mirror-backed cabinet at a salvage store

This shelf holds 2 handmade books and another lovely gift by Anita

-
I found the framed print at an antique store and hung it inside a larger frame.
The silver glittered Eiffel Tower was brought back to me from Paris
from a friend who visited France last month.
-
Estate Sale Chandy ~ My Birthday Present!

... The settee for lounging and day dreaming ....

Most of my decor comes from flea market shops
and antique stores, often  getting a touch of paint
or embellishing to get the look I desire.
-
Thank you for visiting, here is the link to find all of the other participants
in Karen Valentines "Where Bloggers Create 2011 Party"

View her lovely space, and scroll down to find
the list of participants on her right side bar.
I am excited to begin my tour!

I LOVE it here! Your space is stunning and the way you shared your creative photography is fabulous! Then I saw the afghan... then another! I love this breed and I think they are so elegant and wonderful. I'm told they are like couch potatoes. Is this true? They match your decor perfectly.

Thanks very much sharing. I'll be back.
Cheers,
Holly

Oh dearest, my day out today has kept me away but here I am. I AM speechless here now for each detail is full of love. Every piece is carefully organized and so ethereal and what can I say but that I am truly honored that among all these fabulous things, you have also displayed my work. I feel as if I live in this space for we have discussed the many ideas and changes you have made. Your chandy looks AMAZING and the settees....the crinolins, EVERYTHING is in its rightful place and I WILL BE BACK AGAIN. THAT PRINT or watercolour above your settee is stunning. Your photo shot from a distance really shows the grandeur of the picture against the settee.....WOW!!!! THANK YOU MY FRIEND!!!

Oh dearest, I just had to come back again...that shot with AUDREY and your desk and the chandy...well, really, all your photos are just so stunning. Catherine or CC from Catherine de Thé Cups is participating in this party and her room is similar to OURS in that she has a chandy too and she loves aqua! She is also a friend...wonderful believer. I hope you go visit her. She has a mini tea set for her cats! teeheee! Could you see Drifter and Dazzle with hats at a Tea Party? Ohhhhhh.....idea?

I want to sit next to you in your creative space and get glitter all over me!!!!

HAVE A GREAT TIME DEAR ONE! Anita

Violet, Thanks so much for dropping by my place! How kind of you! :) You left such flowery compliments, Merci! ~"~ I in turn am in aWe of your own creative space. And, cReAtIvE I don't think is descriptive enough for what you do my friend! Kathleen Ellis is also my friend and she's told me about you for some time. I'm glad Anita sent you my way so I could come on over to your place and DINE...seriously DINE over your gorgeous space and all the talent that God's blessed you with! Superb! Besides loving your Chandie, and all the accents throughout your spaces, the Dogs are just TOO precious! I was amiss in photo snatching one of my Princess Mignon Abbie for everyone to meet. She spends more time in my office than I do. :) She loves the comfy sofa pillows and insists she stay behind when I go downstairs for the evening. I will be back often now that I've come by to meet you. Continue to bask in your Art...you are ONE talented and gifted lady. I'm so glad you have not buried your talents...but are using them for all to enjoy! ;) xoxo ~CC Catherine

Violet (one of my favourite names: we almost called our daughter Violet but opted for Angélique instead),

Your blog is beautiful. This is my first visit but I shall be back for some more inspiration.

Well done for everything you have achieved: creating beauty is, to my mind, the most important everyday gesture we can make.

Your a very talented artist and decorator. I noticed on your left sidebar your artwork of the 'babies'. I have a KingCharles cavelier; I may need your talented artistry in the future.
I thank you for the tour, it was a pleasure.

Had to come back to take a closer look at your studio, Violet. It is divine. I'm barely getting started with my little corner, but hope to share a little at this year's "Where Bloggers Create." I couldn't believe my eyes last year.
You are very blessed to have such a space of beauty.
Much love,
