Aqua ~ Blue ~ Green ~ Gold

This room is inspired by the glorious colors of the peacock
and all the W O N D E R of the season

Above photos are of the Christmas decor in my studio.
Next week I'll have photos of the other decorated rooms for
~  A Christmas House Tour  ~

I am thoroughly enjoying visiting many of the lovely blogs
delighting in the beauty of Christmas.

May the blessings of this joyous season fill your hearts and homes!

Glitter Fabric Project

Vintage (as in old, chipped, imperfect) frame...
that I bought an an estate sale for $8.
I painted over it here and there with more gold paint,
and left the imperfections.
-
Then a trip to the fabric store
~ Where I found this fabulous glittered design! ~
... I wish the photo showed the blue sparkle...
-
I covered a foam core board  and VOILA!
AN INSPIRATION BOARD
for my desk wall
-
Where I hung some of my vintage-inspired art.

I am so loving the new creamy pale buttery walls and blue ceiling in here
-
The desk wall so far

... I know I probably need to paint that small cabinet white ...
~ another day ~
The inspiration board cost me a total of  $17
for the frame and fabric.  I had on hand the foam core board,
spray glue and duct tape
(not highly decorative, but I used duct tape to attach the fabric to  the back)
-
I wasn't sure if foam core would work,
as usually cork board is used,
but I had it, so thought I'd give it a try.
-
Finally, a project that didn't take me hours and hours
more time and work than I estimated!
-
After I showed this to a friend, she sent me a link to a shop
in her town that had for sale a similar, but smaller magnetic board
with glittery fabric in a gold frame,
priced at $197.
Now I'm liking my project even more!!!
-
I am so loving glittery fabric!
~ There is just something so joyful about glitter ~

How are you incorporating glitter or sparkle into your life?

Loving Some Blues

This Blue Pillow
found in a flea market shop, is the perfect touch for this room!

And I found these shoes at a thrift store, just my size ... love them!

The Dress Form
was found at a flea market last year, and it called my name
~ it was decoupaged with Paris images and script! ~

This Angel Painting
inspired the blues coming into my studio

And Today, This Ceiling Becomes Pale Blue!
and then I will paint the walls a creamier lighter shade of what it is now.
-
~ Saturday update:  new photo of painted room ~

Will try to get some photos later that show the shade of blue better!

A close-up of my vintage chandy
my birthday present from my husband ~ now hung in my studio
and casting light upon the new blue ceiling!
-
I am loving these blue accents!
What colors are floating your boat this spring?

Here is the 'something old'A Vintage Silver Tea Set

Bought the velvet and sequined jacket
right off of an antique store mannequin the other day
for a mere $29. So it's old, but also NEW ~ to me : )
It fit me perfectly but the velvet skirt that goes with it
is way too small for me ~ or my mannequin ~ and will have to be re-purposed!
-
Here is the shop's mannequin wearing the jacket before I nabbed it.

and what a lovely crisp white dress,
photographed in a local antique mall

Oh Precious Baby Girl
( I love you )
My heart dances a melody of joy whenever I see her,
hold her, think of her, or watch her mommy and daddy love her,
and when my dear husband holds this tiny bundle from heaven
so lovingly in his arms
~ our daughter's daughter ~
beautiful gift from God

I could go on and on and on, but... here is the

For two very special little darlings.

this lovely vintage doll in a lacy blue gown

I'm pretty sure she wanted to come home with me
to play with my doll with the pink lace dress

Blue ~ Turquoise ~ Aqua

My good friend in her vintage hat.
(That I should have bought)
... Oh well, I am sure she will lend it to me ...
-
The blue peacock feather hat I did buy that day
-
Not Mine
-
Not Mine Either
-
This One is Mine.
Well, in my dreams. I think I'd be darling in it ... sigh
It seems most of the cars that interested me at this
car show that my husband and I perused ~ were blue.
-
My own car is a pretty shade of lavender.
I'd show you but it doesn't go with this posts color scheme.
-
I glittered this angel and made her a crown of turquoise
-
Have you noticed that when you are liking a certain color
you see it everywhere? Had to get the belt.
And the flower.
-
Do you need a new vehicle?
This one is for sale, saw it on the side of the road
and made my husband stop so I could take a photo.
Blogging can make you do strange things.
STOP!!! I need that for my blog post!!!!
-
Loved this old blue bike in front of an antique store
I wonder where my old bike is?
The one I use to ride every summer day back in my youth.
-
Glitter and Ribbon
Isn't it delicious?
Speaking of delicious, and I can't seem to fit blue into this,
but last night at a Thai restaurant I ate some amazing
coconut ice cream
Does that even sound good? It didn't to me,
but after tasting it I formed another opinion.
Oh, now I want some. Bad. And it is 10 p.m.
So I don't think it's gonna happen.
craving. craving.
Oh wait, I am getting away from the subject of
B L U E
(I am feeling blue about no ice cream)
-
Turquoise Blue Aqua
What if God had not made blue? What would the world look like?
The sky, the water, my childrens eyes...
I am thanking Him for creating blue
~ For letting me see it ~
-
I love this old mixer
~ waiting at an antique store for it's new owner ~
-
As well as this wall-mounted telephone

Hello? Hello? Hello?
