From the Realms of Glory

Angels We Have Heard on High
sweetly singing o're the plains

And the mountains in reply,
Echoing their joyous strains

Gloria in excelsis Deo;
Gloria in excelsis Deo.

"Glory to the Lord in the Highest"

Angel on my easel, found in a vintage shop
(for a song, how appropriate!)
wearing a paper glittered crown I made.

I've finished decorating the house for Christmas,
having celebrated Thanksgiving early,
~ a new tradition I've decided ~

Happy Week of Thanksgiving!

Welcoming the Season of Christmas,

Studio Party Vignettes

... I promised more party decor photos ...
(I made that silly peacock and faux cake)

~  Pink    Aqua    Fuchsia  ~

Those are Necco candies on the cake.
I bought 3 packs so I could pick out all the pink ones!

the Think Pink Fairy oversaw the festivities

The idea for the paint cards brush holder was from Pinterest.
The paper plates were for paint palettes, and jars for water.

Vignette on the mantle with my paper mache' bear ~ turned fairy

So much fun to decorate for a party!
... if only the cake had tasted as good as it looked ...

Fortunately I also made mini-cupcakes
and they were good!

Now I am busy painting canvases in my studio but am leaving up much of the decor

Pink? Aqua? Gray? the Settee.

I'm Having a Deep Pink Inspiration!
{someone stop me!}
~ or not ~

The Settee in my Studio
Wants to be Painted
I know Gray would be classy.
But the upholstery is cream and black (someday I will re-do it to a solid color)
and I'm not sure gray would work with it as it is.
~ I know white would not work until it's reupholstered ~

... AQUA is also a fabulous color ...

This is the actual color, but not quite this yellow.
See why it wants to be painted?

My reasoning is, should I choose a bright color,
I can always re-paint it when it starts to make me gag.

I'd like your opinion
... It helps to see it 'virtually' painted ...

There are aqua accents in this room, but all the colors would work,
...and I have candles in all these hues...

{Do the gray days of winter make you crave color too?}

Next day update:
So far pink has not been the choice my readers are going with.
And I may be coming to my senses.
Maybe.
and I've realized something.
What I really want the most {but don't want to do because
I know it will be one of those projects that I will regret
while in the midst of it} is to re-upholster the couch.
~ Have I mentioned I've never done this before? ~
Ever?
{but when has that stopped me in the past.....}

My photos make the fabric look better than it is in real life.
If it was white and black I could paint the wood white.
After viewing these photos my actual couch looks dirty to me.
Interesting how taking a photo can make one see more clearly.

I will now be searching youtube for how to re-upholster.
Hey, wait.  Have any of you tried painting your upholstery with chalk paint?

Studio Angels and Decor

The studio is now empty of boxes
and I can walk into this room now and actually enjoy it

To finally get to decorate it and make it into a room of
I N S P I R A T I O N
{... and to begin making art again after moving and unpacking ...}

This lovely peacock was in the Christmas section of a shop
and it went so well with my colors.
~ I guess it's a Christmas Peacock! ~

A few months ago before we moved I was making peacocks,
and now I see them everywhere.  I don't suppose I started the trend,
since no one ever saw mine.

There's a part of me that wants to get all the Christmas bins out
and get to decorating the house.
And then there's the part of me that says it feels too much like
U N P A C K I N G
~ which I've been doing the past 2 months and I'm tired of it~
I hope my Christmas Inspiration wins out!

How about you?
Have you decorated? Or almost ready to?
Are you going all out, or is this the year to
s i m p l i f y?
