Master Bath

In my previous homes I wasn't all that into baths.
But I wanted a comfy tub this time
and I have sooooo enjoyed
my bubble baths!
A claw foot tub,
how strange to me that they are shaped like actual claws.
I wonder how that came to be a design?
Does anyone know how this got started?!?

I found the chandelier at one of my favorite shops,
bought the sheer white curtains at a thrift shop for $4.

A girl can really lounge around in here : )

One of the houses I lived in during college had a tub like that....there is an elegance to them. Looks beautiful.

Miss Violet. I grew up in a one bathroom house with a claw foot tub. My sisters and I took turns in luke warm water - 3 at a time - washing each others hair and backs. Then dad hoisted us out one by one to the drying station on the toilet. After that he soared us over his head and dropped us on the bed where Mom waited with jammies and powder. Mind you this only happened once or twice a week - with seven girls and three boys to bathe!

When I got my first job after college I lived in an apartment with a murphy bed in the wall and a claw foot tub in the bathroom.

Love your tub!

I'm thinking about painting the chandelier black. I think it would stand out more and also match the other hardware. Any thoughts???

Your tub does look super comfy I hope that you get to relax in it often! We now have two lovely large comfortable tubs at www.hargate.com.au and I should make a vow to use them each week!! There is nothing more relaxing than a hot, deep bath with fluffy bubbles!!

Oh, Violet! I love your tub! It is so inviting...I LOVE bubblebaths...they are so therapeutic! I see all of you girls are enjoying it! ;-D

I think your chandelier looks pretty as is but it would look equally pretty in black or with an antique bronzey/gold rub over the current finish.
Have a fabulous week!
;-D
