Pencil Drawings for Christmas

A Portrait of a Darling Girl
-
A Portrait of a Sweet Boy
-
The little girl, finished just in time for Christmas,
a gift to her mommy and daddy.
The boy drawing, given to them Christmas 2 years ago.
-
My wonderful grandchildren!
-
~ I love them more than words can say ~
-
I so enjoy pencil drawings, I don't know why I don't do them
more often. It has been two years since the last one!
Do they have to have another child
before I pick up the pencils once again?!?
-
How I want to capture them also in watercolor and oil !
I painted my own children as they grew.
Has time really flown by so fast that I am now
painting my grandchildren?!?
(Because I know I'm not that old.)

LOVE ~ LOVE ~ LOVE
... fills my heart for these precious ones ...

We love these drawings so much Mom! Dalen was nearly in tears when we opened both of them, 2 years ago and 2 days ago. We cherish them!
Love you,
Megan

Dearest Violet,
What a gorgeous name, in fact, my husband just gifted me with a superb vintage print of "A Penny a Bunch", a print of a beautiful flower vendor in Paris. She is holding a bunch of violets and I have named her such, in French: Violette!

Thank you for coming by my blog tonight; YOU ARE A REAL ARTIST! My husband has been telling me for years to hone my drawing skills for our plans to write and illustrate childrens' books, but holy cow! My drawings are primative when I see the reality with which you capture your subjects! I draw in the style of a cartoonist, like Sempé from the French "Le Petit Nicolas" series. I also see that you love EMBELLISHING things. OH YEAH! I thought I was the queen of embellishments! One of my favorite passtimes is hunting for vintage metal objects (brass, tin) to make unusual pieces. It is a pleasure to meet you; please, please come back. I wish you a very lovely New Year! Anita

Dear Violet,
Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comments. I had to come visit your blog and am duly impressed. Your art work is beautiful. I also found it a wonderful "coincidence" that your goal is "creating a beautiful life," because I have been reflecting increasingly on that very theme. I will post shortly on a related theme. I'm convinced that as children of God there are many ways beyond preaching that give testimony to the love and beauty of God.
Have a blessed New Year,
Ruben

Your drawings are just fabulous. I came to visit you after visiting your daughter. I'm signed up for DJ Pettitts class also. Where abouts in the NW do you live? I'm in Salem.
