Telephone

A Friend is Just a Phone Call Away!
-
This lovely lady waiting for a call
to go out for lunch, or a shopping spree?
... still has no name ...
But I thank all of you for your ideas!
Still trying to decide.
Who does she look like today?
-
I have two new phones.
The above, I found at a thrift store this week.
Never used before! If only I could use it.
We have our phone service through an internet provider
and this one only plugs into a phone jack.
But isn't it
B E A U T I F U L !?!
-
Asthetics
versus
Functionality
-
The one above does not fit in my purse quite as well
-
My other new phone
-
Also white ...
And so far, no Afghan Hound teeth marks
no falling into water like my last one.
(Oh, and no purple tape holding the battery in!)
-
Beauty and the Beast.
-
(but I can take photos and text with the Beast)
Okay, it's not really a beast. I really like it
But it's not that great for posing for photos.
-
~ Both go with my Blue Danube china ~
-

No ... just not the same effect though is it?

-
And no matter how I design a photo-shoot
Well, this is just w r o n g!
-
But it makes me giggle
-
-
I doubt, years from now
They will use 'vintage' cell phones in romantic photos
-
But this phone will always be in
S T Y L E
-
... or just text ...
-
Gotta go make some calls now,
Violet

LOVE that vintage phone & so much more charming than "Beast". Of course you would have Blue Danube China..... Of course my sister of the soul. I have an entire set packed away because Hubby declared one day "I'm sick of eating on these blue flowers". Alrighty then... So I packed them up & bought new. Trust me that cost him! But, I do still have them somewhere & had to smile when I saw yours. In fact funny side note...somehow 2 cereal bowls missed being packed all those years ago & that is what I fed Princess Reba in when she switched from dry food to canned. It was just last week that I could eat out of one. Before that I would pull it out (because it was just the right size for what I wanted) but, just couldn't bear seeing it for the memories of all those weeks of coaxing her to eat something. Now it is begining to be a touchstone to her. TEARS Stillll OK, enough of that but, funny we still have the same choice in dishes. Truth be known... I have a crystal, silver & dish fetish/obsession I think. And thank you for the suggestion of the place in Oregon. If we head out on a trip (we haven't made the deal on the trailer yet) it would be great if you & I could hook up somewhere wouldn't it? HUGS!

Oh dearest....this is exquisite!!! Everything about this post from your mystery dress form to the thrift store treasure to your wit, this is a fabulous post showing the contrast between the function and the frivolousness of it all!!! And...thank you for coming again to get some blue inspiration! And....if that wasn't enough for you....check out this site:

A blogger pal left me this today and though it is a more trendy style, the color is enough to draw you in and make you wonder HOW you can incorporate YOUR shade of blue into your world. GO AND TAKE A PEEK! Anita
