AMORE' ~ { armoire }

When the stars make you drool

just like a pasta fazool
-

That's amore
-
When you dance down the street

with a cloud at your feet
-

You're in love
-
When you walk down in a dream

but you know you're not Dreaming, signore

Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli
-
That's amore!

_________

MY VERSION:
-
-
"When a search makes you drool
just like a pasta fazool
-
That's Armoire
-
When you drive down the street
to a place there to meet
-
You're in love
Er, I mean, you've been on Craigs List
-
When you've found quite the dream,
~ and your husband wishes it were ~
-
{okay, I can't rewrite this to work....}
-
Instead of a song, how about a fairy tale?
-
Once Upon a Time
a girl found the perfect piece on Craigs List
-
-
{you've lived this one, right?}
-
Oh, the words might be different
-
 "Yard Sale"   "Garage Sale"   "Flea Market"
-
-
There's just one itty bitty problem:
That thing is HUGE and HEAVY and you've gotta figure out how to
present this item to your husband  {...friend, brother, father, strong neighbor...}
who of course will have to lift it,
haul it home, and drag it up the stairs,
without ending your relationship.
-
Me, calling him at work:
"I've found just what I need, and it's such a great price,
New this would cost {insert large amount here} $$$!!!"
-
Him:  "Oh no, you've been on Craigs List again... "
(I email him photo and listing)
Him:, "WHAT?!?!? That thing is HUGE!
No way are we getting that!!!
-Why would you want such a big thing?
Here, look at these links I sent you,"
(in other words, look at these cheaply made fake wood items
that we can have sent directly to our home!)"
-
Me: " We'd have to pay tax on it and you'd have to put it together!
And I like the Craigs List one so much better!!!"
-
Him: "Grumble, grumble..."  then ~  the silent treatment.
-
Me:  Not wanting to upset him more,
and not pushing for it, I do what comes natural, beg, plead
P R A Y
-
and this time, (not always the case) God says,
" Yes, that is just what you need, and I will work it out for you!"
{at least that is what I think He's saying, because it happens}
-
This morning I have this fabulous solid wood computer armoire
{thanks to God, Craigs List, my husband and my amazingly helpful son-in-law}
-
which will hold all of my computer-related stuff,
(cpu, monitor, printer, scanner, various papers)
and I can close it all up when a little one comes for a visit
and sleeps in this room!
-
I have not mentioned to my dear husband yet that I want to
~ paint it white, shabby it up a bit ~
one must be wise with the timing of saying such things
{te-heeeee!}
(... yes, it does take up an entire wall ...)
I've promised him that if we ever move we'll leave it here
-
-
-
what have you dragged home lately?

OHHHHHHHH THIS FONT is not big enough nor are my words here loud enough to show you how FUNNY THIS IS! You are so talented my friend! AND I SEE that my other half is here...YO PENNY! OH DEAR, that was a hoot.....I MEAN, I HAVE BEEN THERE from the discovery of a MUST HAVE ITEM to the silent treatment....we can all BET SAFELY that once THE MISTA sees the item, he is going to say, "THAT THING IS HUGE!" That always comes out of their mouths. But the great thing is, that somewhere down deep in those hearts is a something that they can't resist...letting us have what we need....and want!!!!!!!!!!!

It is going to look SUPER in your studio. OH CAN YOU SEE IT NOW, all painted up with your CHANDY dripping down so sparkly? HA! You know what I've done? I JUST PAINT IT WITHOUT MENTIONING IT and then after that, it's done. Over. And he usually doesn't notice for weeks. teehee

BUT THIS IS A BIG PIECE so I suppose you can't just paint it and have him not notice!!!!!

LOVED IT...LOVE YOUR SONG! You are a riot....

Great find, and yes my husband always complains about all the heavy furniture I get! I should tell him that there is a club he can join. You will know if your husband reads your blog if he mentions to you about painting it white, or he will just know you well enough. I know my husbands asks me all the time " are you going to paint this white too"

This is too big to hide under the bed until just the right moment! Once he sees that it already lives in your heart, he'll be on your side. But even though I don't believe in luck, Good Luck!
