Romancing Fall

Lace Pumpkins

Glittered Pumpkins

Sweatered Pumpkins

I've been creating White Fall Pumpkins
for birthday gifts and for our home.

These are so simple to make!
I began with carvable pumpkins from the dollar store,
painted a pale color so the orange doesn't show through.
( 'sample' paint comes in handy!)
Below on the left you can see the painted one
with the stem cut out.

The tree branches for stems
were soaked in bleach to lighten,
and I brushed on a bit of paint also.
The lace pumpkins were wrapped with leftover lace curtain fabric,
and one was from a lace top I no longer wore.

For the sweater pumpkin, I bought a large white sweater
from a thrift store.  See that cut off sleeve?
That made one pumpkin.
...Obviously there's enough to make several...

I gathered the cuff with thread and stitched together,
then covered the pumpkin and gathered the top.
The branch piece went into the hole,
and I hot glued the stem to the fabric
and embellished it with ribbon, lace, and vintage jewels
from my stash.  Wire tendrils and a Fall tag
were the finishing touches for these

I am currently working on a couple of
Cinderella Carriages
(the most romantic use of a pumpkin!)
and will show those in my next post.

I am finally HERE! Whew....this is one busy school year my friend!

Oh I have not yet started my fall romancing, but in between thinking about poetry, grading 8th grade French exams and creating 12th grade quizzes, I am thinking about white pumpkins. I went to the market yesterday to see about buying those small white pumpkins for a white bowl but they ROT so quickly! Maybe I can run to the new Michael's near us to see if I can just get a few and start my romance this week, in between whatever!

I just love how that pumpkin is cozied up with its sweater...teeheee

CINDERELLA, here comes VIOLET with your new carriage...get ready!

Much love my dear friend! Anita
