Staging ... The Great Room

Vignettes Give the Room a Focal Point

A Place for the Eyes to Land
When Taking in the View of a Room

And Bring in a Pop of Color

the 'before' of this room ~ b o r i n g!!!

The beginning of the inspiration for this room were the pillows,
found for half price at World Market.
I painted 3 canvases to go with the pillows
for the wall that was always an issue for me.

An aqua knitted throw from Home Goods
covers the scratched ottoman,
and the wood tray (with mirror bottom) is also from there.

Two rugs from Ross created the look of a larger rug
under the ottoman.

We bought a 30 year old home and are selling this
house we built 3 years ago!
crazy?  {maybe!}  but not a mistake!

I enjoyed staging the house to sell
and will be showing some other rooms in my next post.

What a beautiful room you created!
And what an amazing touch to paint canvases to match the pillows.

I can't wait to see more staging posts,

Dear Violet
What a difference a pop of color and your gifted hands made to this room.
Your new purchase of an old house... I wish you the very best, and years of joy. I hope you will share some photos.

Good morning dear Violet! You are so right; that focal point is such an important feature to recognize and master! Whether it's in your painting or my poetry or our photography, a focal point is so necessary. It seems to have taken my naturally good eye to learn this and to improve it, but visuals are such a great way for some of us to finally get it....and I do now, and you have helped me SO MUCH! Your before picture of this room is actually appealing to me (you know me with my grays and whites!)BUT the pops of color.....ever since we bought our oils in Carmel and now have these sudden bursts of color, I can feel the difference, as I can see in your before and after shots. This home you are selling is a jewel and even more beautiful because of YOU.

Looking forward to your next post! XOXOX

Hi Violet,
It's truly is how you tweak a room to show off its best potential, the added pillows and art work draws you eyes to the fun you gave this space. It's exciting to be making a move, and an older home can allow you to remodel and place your stamp on it.
I would love to be making a move and the challenge of adapting my style to a new older home, replacing what I don't like about it with things I know I will then love about it.

I was visiting Anita's instagram and noticed she posted the sea canvas art you did for her... It was wonderful and viberent like the sea I'm Carmel! Have you ever visited the Monterey Bay Area. If not it's truly a must... It's like visiting a little town in europ but placed right in sunny California.

I want to thank you for visiting me, leaving then a comment that placed a big smile on my heart.

See you soon and all you inspire. I am off to check out all I have missed here.

Xoxo

Ahhhh....glorious creativity and DIVINE gifts have YOU my dear. Thank you so much for coming to visit my post. The abstract idea of kindness needs to wear clothing; we are that garment.

LOVE!
