Angels We Have Heard on High!

The Angels Announced His Birth!

Children Are The Delight of Christmas
-
How precious it is to see them all dressed up telling the story of the night of our Savior's birth!
-
"And Mary gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there ws no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
-
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you

good news of great joy

that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'
-
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.'

As I busy myself preparing for the holidays, Christmas shopping, decorating, baking, crafting, painting, taking care of business, I get so caught up in the 'doing' ... and this morning I woke up with this word on my heart. - ABIDE. -The verse on this painting is from John 15. - Jesus tells us He is the true Vine, and we are the branches. When we abide in Him, when we stay attached to the vine, that is when we bear fruit. No branch can bear fruit by itself. For apart from Him I can do nothing. My life source comes from Him! And He is the reason for the season!
-

This morning I was reading in the old testament in Jeremiah 33: 14,15 and he tells of a Branch that would grow from David's line to rule with righteousness, fortelling of our Saviors birth.
-
"The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the gracious promise I made to the house of Israel and to the
house of Judah.
-
In those days and at that time
I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David's line;
he will do what is just and right in the land.
In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety.
This is the Name by which it will be called:
The Lord Our Righteousness."

How blessed it is to abide in the vine!
