Royal Wedding Tea Party

First:  The CAKE

for the
Royal Tea Party

I created a "Wedding Cake" for the Royal couple
Made from hat boxes that I covered with embossed wallpaper
and a crown cake topper

For William and Catherine

~ Quite tasty ~
-
What a lovely excuse for a party
~ to play dress-up and watch the Royal Wedding on TV with girlfriends ~
Since we didn't want to stay up all night,
we recorded it and the party began at 1 p.m. ( instead of 1 a.m.)

Now that the party is over, where am I going to put this huge cake?
-
It will be a center piece for every occasion for a while!
-
~ More photos of the party ~

Dining Room before the food is out
(otherwise this dog would not be in the picture!)

Because he would love to munch on these cucumber/cream cheese
and chicken salad sandwiches

We dined on tea sandwiches, cashew chicken salad,
strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, tarts, frosted brownies, cookies,
tea and coffee

Gift tags for the guests to take home
to commemorate this day

Lovely guests in hats and tiara's

... And a veil ...

Tea and Tiara's
set the tone for the day!

~ And of course hats are the in thing for this wedding ~

And a Kingly crown is quite fitting
-
-

So glad they allowed dogs to the wedding
(by special invitation of the Queen Mum)

... Speaking of the Queen Mum ...
-
-

Kate and her father as they walk down the isle

~ This one had to put on the veil once she saw the bride ~

I had such a great view for my close-up shots
(as the official wedding (party) photographer of course )

Oh the pageantry!

Look at all those people, just waiting for a glimpse of the
R O Y A L   C O U P L E

~ sigh ~
-
-
We all enjoyed our front row seats

Oh! I love this. What a great idea. I say keep it for the next event and decorate it with other flowers. I see a Christmas cake and valentines cake in the future.

What a fun idea to host a party! LOVED all the hats. And the one of that sweet puppy in her hat was adorable. I'm sure everyone had a ROYAL GOOD TIME! Now I'm off to watch the rest of the wedding that I DVR'd since I had "Stuff" to do that day & a hubby home that wasn't interested in watching "girlie stuff". Now it's my time. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR PARTY!

It look like you and your friends had so much fun!!!! Your cake is wonderful!!!!
I got up at 4:00 and watched, was recording it on several channels. It was just me, none of my guys would watch? So I made a pot of tea and eat cookies or as they call them in the UK, biscuits. Watch again on the BCCA later that day.
If you check out my blog, I took a photo of my little tea party.
